Effective immediately: The Fez will not be worn with anything less than a suit coat and tie without dispensation. Acceptable dress for Temple Meetings: Coat, tie and dress trousers (unless given a dispensation for other attire). Let's be honest. We do judge a book by its cover. (Our cover is our Fez) We draw conclusions and make assumptions about people based on their appearance. We sadly watch our young men who think that showing their underwear is a fashion statement and shake our heads. But even as we judge, so also are WE judged. Our monthly Temple Meeting is a business meeting. It is where the shareholders (you) of the organization (Prince Hall Shriners) meet to plan its actions, review its results, and address its issues. In other words take care of temple business. It is not a social event. You don't convey an atmosphere of serious intent by coming to the meeting in jeans, shorts, beach shirts, walking suits, etc. (when you look successful you can began to be successful). What may be appropriate for a parade or the Grenadier Club is not appropriate for a business meeting. Wearing anything other than business attire at temple meeting does not promote the attitude of professionalism and competence we should and must be projecting. www. aeaonms. org Being regarded with respect by others because you dress like you're about something makes a big impression about who we are. There is the matter of self respect and self awareness. Knowing that you present the proper appearance helps your confidence and focus so that you see yourself as a true mover and shaker of this great organization and not just a spectator. Young men, role model what they see not what they hear. As Prince Hall Shriners we need to show them men of high standards and superior Character.
